Firearm User Network - About Us

Firearm User Network is the organization that finally organizes shooting and shooters!

Marksmanship programs are decades, even a century old. There are tens of millions of gun owners, hunters, police and military in the United States, a sufficient audience to greatly outnumber the most popular prime time television programs and even rival the Super Bowl. And we have have dozens of groups, events and disciplines all attempting to foster organized shooting. Yet, formal marksmanship programs remain largely unheard of, underpromoted and under appreciated events. Why?

We have gun owners but we lack firearm users. And the scant firearm users we have are mostly ignored by the industry, to say nothing of the general public.

Firearm User Network will reverse this trend. The FUNshoot system incorporates powerful, effective tools for promoting shooting events. These tools make organized shooting events easier to run than random plinking sessions, and can promote the results on your behalf to your entire local community. With a Network of Firearm Users we can blanket the country, promoting positive use of firearms to the general public.

Other organizations make claims to promoting marksmanship shooting programs. FUNshoot.com provides the tools to actually do it!

Yes, there is a real person behind this website. I'm John, nice to meet you. Military side, I'm a small arms instructor in the US Army Reserve with the Small Arms Readiness Group, on active duty since 2003, am a member of the USAR Shooting Team, and have managed a few first-place wins at the All Army Small Arms Championships and AFSAM (Armed Forces Skills at Arms Meeting.) Civilian side, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Computer Systems, hold several shooting classifications at "Master" level, am a NROI-certified Range Officer, and NRA life member.

I'll be away on active duty until 2008, but I'm still working on the project when I can. Hopefully I'll answer your questions in the newsletter (you did sign up for for the free newsletter, right?) If I don't, you can reach me by email (spelled out to fool the spambots!): jbuol -(at)- copper -(dot)- net
